What do "signs" in your biz really mean?

Sometimes in your business, it can be a bit of a bumpy ride to get where you want to go.

Here's a real life story of how I was reminded of this too...

Last Friday, I was headed out of town for my annual, girl's weekend away with some childhood friends.

Lots of laughs, good R&R, beach time and playing in the ocean were on the agenda.

But it wasn't easy getting out the door.

If you have kids, or have a life outside of your biz, you know what I mean.

I had to not only get myself ready, but get my biz, my kids, my kitchen and more, set up for my time away.

I made it to Albany Airport that Friday morning alright, even with kids grasping at my legs and screaming and generally going nuts.

Oh, I made it just fine.

One small detail though..

My luggage was still in my garage, next to the new, unwrapped car seat and lawn mower thingy my husband ordered.

I knew it the moment I pulled into my parking spot at the airport. I didn't have to look in the trunk.

For a moment or two, I sat in my car and wondered "WTF is wrong with me? Am I losing it?? Maybe these are signs that I shouldn't go?" followed by a few more dark thoughts I'd rather not share.

Oh, and did I mention, that prior to arriving at the airport, as I was walking out of my house, my car rental called to cancel my reservation. (Wha!?)

"Yes, hello Ma'am, this is Corporal Smith confirming if you have military clearance for your car pick up."

"Uh, what?"

"Ma'am, we are located on an Air Force Base, I repeat, do you have military clearance?"

"Uhhhh, no. I do not."

No car for me! (Foiled again! Thanks for nuthin' Enterprise!)

So not only did I have no suitcase, I had no ride from the airport.

Dag blammit!

Were these "signs" that I shouldn't go to Florida?

Lucky for me, I've been living with an in-house Law of Attraction expert for the past 10 years, so it didn't take much inquiry as to what was being reflected back to me.

"Oh, yeah, I kept going back and forth about whether I should go or not, for 4 whole days just for ME. That's what's showing up here."

(On top of leaving the fam for a few days, Ella was going to be weaned while I was away, Drew was going to be flying solo with both kids, my mom and step-dad were going to be on deck, ready to help, and you can bet that ALL of this rubbed against my "can I really have what I want" button(s).)

And so I ask you, were these signs that I should stay home?

Heck no!

This was just a reflection of my own ambivalence and wobbly desires.

In fact, "signs" are simply an easy way to read your own energy being reflected back to you. It may not be 100% the truth, but it's a very powerful place to stand in.

All of a sudden, things started becoming kinda fun as I decided to 1) get crystal clear what my intention was "EFF IT! I'm going no matter what!" and 2) start aligning with that intention instead of second guessing myself at every turn (and creating more hoops to jump through).

I grabbed my purse and headed to my Southwest gate, free as a bird, without a pair of undies or toothbrush to my name.

All weekend long, I wore my friends clothing, Pjs, bought a few undies (nice ones too! he he!), and generally had quite a freeing time not having a thing other than my purse.

So what about you?

Could you begin to read "those signs" as a friendly reflection of what you've been aligning with (or not aligning with) thus far?

Just because things get a bit bumpy doesn't mean it's a sign to turn back.

Instead, it's time to pause, take a breath and consciously course correct your next step.

I'd be happy to help you with this too.
