Luck and a Happy Little Practice

How to get lucky in business?

Okay, please forgive my St. Patty's day cheesiness.

When you have a 9-year-old girl that expects St. Patrick's Day magic, ALL MONTH LONG, well, you just have to get into the spirit of things.

So let's get into it!

Lucky in Business Tip #1. -- Know what you help people solve

For super simple insights on how to do this, see this blog post.

Lucky Business Tip #2 --  Start making offers to help people solve stuff

The distinction: instead of offering coaching, you offer to solve problems.

Examples of making offers:

Want me to help you with that?

Want me to help you get that handled, once and for all?

Would you be interested in talking about how to turn that around?

Want me to do that for you?

Would you like me to help you do that?

Invite these people to a private conversation with you to talk about the possibility of resolving what they're struggling with (or achieving a big desire).

If it's a fit, then invite them to work with you.

Other examples of making offers include:

Would you like me to come talk to your group about HOW TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM YOU SOLVE?

Would you like an article for your publication ON THE PROBLEM YOU SOLVE?

Would you like to come to my virtual fireside chat ON THE PROBLEM YOU SOLVE?

Would you like me to leave a monthly article in your office about XYZ TOPIC for your patients?

Would your patients like a free introductory session ON THIS TOPIC as a special bonus to the good work you do?

Would you like to try my service for 6 weeks and see if we can solve one part of the problem you're facing? And if you like the results, we can discuss handling the next part?

Get creative. Make offers. Talk to new humans. (By the way, not usually your friends and family.)

Lucky in Business Tip #3 - Understand what's normal in a coaching, consulting or private practice

75% of the time when you make offers, you'll get a no, maybe later or a shrug of the shoulders. That's okay.

Why is it okay? This is how you figure out what works and what doesn't. It's valuable learning.

25% of the time you'll get some yeses.

Yes, let's get to know each other. Yes, come speak to my group. Yes, let's talk about working together. Yes, I'll come to your fireside chat.

THIS. IS. NORMAL.

YOU. MUST. PLAN. FOR. THIS.

(Yes, those are ALL CAPS because I am trying to wake you up. And hopefully make you chuckle in the process too.)

But this isn't a problem.

Why?

BECAUSE THE YESES ARE SO WORTH IT.

In my Happy Little Practice, whether I'm working with 15 private clients a year, or 40 or 50 clients in a year, I still feel like all the no's are so worth dealing with.

Why? Because my conversations with clients are impactful and fulfilling - for them, for me, and yes, even my family (I learn from each client).

It's just so worth it.

There's a saying I picked up along the way and it goes like this -- and I invite you to borrow it:

"Some people will want what you have, some won't, so what, focus on those that do.

Put that on a Post It note!

Stick it to your forehead.

Write it on your arm in ink.

Say it each day like a new mantra.

The End.

Okay, I actually have one more tip for you...

An Extra Tip for Good Luck - > Have a mindset practice to see your ideas through.

You must have one.

It is the secret sauce to being consistent in your marketing and making offers.

That's it.

That is the sauce.

I can teach you what I personally do in the Happy Little Practice Mindset Club

Now, if you're ready to get to work, I'd love to partner with you in your happy little practice.

All it takes is showing up no matter what (even when you feel wildly imperfect and messy).

Here's to creating your own luck.

Karin

PS -- It's worth noting that it can feel extra challenging to run a business while watching the devastating news about the Ukraine, navigating ongoing pandemic changes, handling family life, figuring out dinner and more.

Is it the right time to be in business?

Is it the right time to start a business?

To me, the better question to ask is: What is the world needing from my business at this time? Go offer that.
